Huawei Mate 40: Cost & Release Date

  • September or October 2020   • Probably within a similar price range to the Mate 30 Most people are expecting the device to launch this Semester, 2020. This is the period when Mate 30 hit the market. But, with the current health crises, it’s more than likely that the latest release will be pushed to October.  This is the exact same period for the Google Pixel 5 release – the competitor for Huawei Mate 40. Anything longer than that might not be a good strategy for the company if they want to get ahead of the competition.   As for the cost, there is not much information yet. The standard Mate 30 is around $800, with the pro version costing approximately $1,200. Since with the Mate 40, we are getting better spec and excellent performance, the prices should go up a little. But, they could be pretty similar to the Mate 30.

Latest Speculations

  • Kirin 1000 Chipset   • Next-gen Kirin processor   • “Freeform” camera design There is not much info yet for the Mate 40. With the release date coming close, a lot of rumours have emerged about the spec and performance. But, Huawei isn’t looking to ditch Android anytime soon.  Some rumours speculate Mate 40 will have a Kirin 1000 chipset and with it a next-gen Kirin processor. This isn’t officially confirmed yet. However, the company already has a habit of debuting new chipsets. So, the odds of them, including the latest chipset in their latest device, are pretty high.  According to Ming-Chi Kuo, an expert analyst, we could be getting an innovative “freeform” camera that decreases distortion in wide-angle pictures. Once you add that to the curved display design and the round-shaped camera, you will be looking at an improved and more creative phone than its predecessor.  Plus, this is the newest addition, so it’s most likely to get even more improvements. Maybe a better lens and spec. So far, there is not that much info in this department. Don’t worry though; you will not be looking at a replica of the Mate 30.

Conclusion

As you can see, the info on the Huawei Mate 40 is pretty limited. It’s hard to say what you can expect at this stage of development. Yet, there are a couple of hints that we will be getting a much better alternative of the older version. To find out more, we will need to wait for official info. For now, keep your fingers crossed and look forward to the newest Huawei addition.
