If you’ve heard of the Nokia 9.3 PureView, then you’ve heard of the Penta-lens camera system. When the first rumours surfaced, this camera driven by light tech seemed to be the breakthrough in picture quality. With much better depth control, focus, colour, and background.  This device came with a lot of promises since its initial announcement back in 2018. But, it hasn’t hit the market yet. Despite the limited information, there have been a lot of rumours about the latest Nokia 9 flagship. Here is what we might be getting with this newest device. Nokia 9.3 PureView

Nokia 9.3 PureView Release Date & Cost

• Late H2 2020 • Probably $799 for 6GB RAM There have been plenty of speculations for the last few years. The most anticipated one was the core update hardware that was supposed to happen to Nokia a while back, but it never came to be. Then, recent rumours surfaced stating we would probably get the 9.3 PureView the second half of 2020.  The venue for the release date announcement would probably be IFA. But since the trade show is booked for September, it could be postponed. The current health situation can be a significant setback. It makes it challenging to do a successful product launch.   When it comes to pricing, for the 6GB RAM option, we might be looking at a $799. Though the information hasn’t been confirmed yet, it seems like a good start.

Display

• 6.7 inch • 120 Hz refresh rate • 16M colours • Upgraded camera From the currently available info, we are getting a 6.7” display with 16M colours. The touchscreen is most likely going to be P-OLED, which is something people are looking forward to. But, the details are pretty thin.  Some rumours suggest the device will get a 120Hz refresh rate. This feature was suggested a while back, but it never got confirmed. Another interesting speculation is the panel supplier. The Nokia 9.3 is believed to get its panels from LG.  There is a lot of talk about the camera. The device will feature a camera under the display and a punch-hole camera. Even though there are many prototypes with an under-display camera, we haven’t had a final model to see yet. Since nothing is confirmed so far, it’s hard to figure out the reliability of these speculations.

Hardware

• 5G • Snapdragon 865 • Octa-core CPU We could be getting an Octa-core CPU with a Snapdragon 865. What we do know is that the Nokia 9.3 will be tailored towards 5G, so it has to be just as good as its competitors. With the Nokia 8.3., the company already took a step towards 5G. Therefore, the latest version has to keep up.

Design

Very little is known about the Nokia 9.3 design. We are expecting a similar outlook to Nokia 9, with some tweaks we will be getting with the five-lens camera. There are a lot of speculations that the camera array will resemble the Nokia 8.3 and 7.2. But we will have to wait and see.  Other than that, the concept remains a mystery. It could receive a retro charm to stand out from the rest, or it could look like the Lumia 1020.  As you can see, most of the info on the Nokia 9.3 is pretty vague. There are a lot of leaks, but not enough official info yet. For more information, we would have to wait for the official release.
